Movie Review: Urban Justice

By Dave Davis | 11/15/2007 9:36 PM
Urban Justice
Urban Justice
Actors: Eddie Griffin; Steven Seagal

When a good cop gets blown away in a drive-by shooting, the police department writes it off as a random act of violence. BIG mistake. That young cop has a father who happens to be a special forces-trained, street-fighting, nerves-of-steel avenger bent on one thing: JUSTICE. To find his son's killer, Simon Ballister(Steven Seagal) moves into the worst part of town where his welcome wagon turns out to be two gang members whom he sends home bleeding. Ballister isn't easily deterred, and he'll stop at nothing to find his son's killer. But, these gangs have more men, more firepower, more police protection and the fearless and dangerous recklessness of youth- all of which Ballister plans to use against them.

Also starring Eddie Griffin(Armageddon, Redline) and Danny Trejo(Bubble Boy, The Spy Kids Trilogy)

All I can say is, typical Steven Seagal. This movie was filmed almost entirely in the dark, making it hard to see most of the fights scenes, probably so we could'nt see his stunt double doing them. Good cop gets killed by bad cop, with help from gang bangers. He is on the run from rival gangs ready to kill him, except he is killing everyone for payback on his son's death.

Lots of people getting shot, blown up and LOTS of fake blood being splashed all over the place.

I have always been a fan of Steven Seagals' movies but now that he has gotten older, he just can't get it done like he used to. I'm sorry to say this but Mr. Seagal, I believe it's high time you hang up the badge and the karate chops. Your action movie star status is LONG gone.

This movie is not worth renting unless you really want to lose 1 1/2 hours of your life.

On a scale of 1-5 stars...

this film gets 1 1/2 stars...

Have a Great day and God Bless...

Movie Review: I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

By Dave Davis | 11/10/2007 11:16 PM
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
Actors: Adam Sandler; Kevin James

Adam Sandler and Kevin James star as best friends and fellow firefighters Chuck and Larry, the pride of their Brooklyn fire station. Chuck owes Larry for saving his life. larry calls in that favor BIG-time by asking Chuck to pose as his "domestic partner" so his kids will get his pension. But when a fact-checking bureaucrat becomes suspicious, the two straight guys are forced to improvise as love-struck newlyweds. Jessica Biehl, Ving Rhames, Dan Akroyd, Rob Schneider co-star, along with the usual suspects(ALL of Adam Sandler's buddies from most of his movies), in this hilarious comedy.

All I can say is-FUNNY, FUNNY, FUNNY. This is by far, the best comedy that Adam Sandler has put together in a long time. I laughed so hard, I had tears rolling down my face, my jaws hurt from cramping up so much and at one time during the movie, I literally "spit" my drink across my living room during a really funny scene, so do not drink anything while watching.

I suggest this movie to EVERYONE. Kick back, let go of life's troubles, be very amused for two hours and ENJOY this film. Also, check out the bonus features on this film...they are just as funny and Adam and Kevin give you a good behind the scenes look at how it was made.

Out of 5 stars....this one gets 5 stars...

Have fun and God Bless...

p.s. Adam keep up the GREAT job of entertaining us. I will ALWAYS be a fan of your work.

Movie Review: Redline

By Dave Davis | 11/5/2007 10:50 AM
Redline
Redline
Director: Andy Cheng
Actors: Eddie Griffin; Angus MacFadyen; Tim Matheson; Nathan Phillips; Nadia Bjorlin

On the streets of LA and Las Vegas, daredevil drivers race the world's most exotic and expensive cars for million dollar bets. But as the stakes rise, so does the danger-from deadly crashes to kidnapping and murder-and only the fast survive. With adrenaline-pumping action and some of the rarest, most expensive high-performance vehicles ever raced and obliterated on film, Redline roars into high gear and doesn't let off the gas until the final explosive rush.

This is a MUST-SEE movie if you like fast cars, some great crash scenes and LOTS of beautiful women. Eddie Griffin stars in this film and brings his usual funny persona with him. He plays a guy named Infamous who bets millions of dollars on car races to win. His driver gets "hurt" and he enlists the help of beautiful Nadia Bjorlin. She has her reservations about doing it but finally comes through.

This movie has LOTS of action, LOTS of money being thrown away, LOTS of racing action and, did I mention this before, LOTS and LOTS of beautiful women. Also, the music to this film is kickin'. It has some rockin' good tunes.

Check it out. It's worth the hour and a half spent watching it.

My FINAL review:

I give REDLINE 4 out of 5 stars.

C Ya and God Bless,

Movie Review: Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane

By Dave Davis | 11/3/2007 11:30 PM
Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane
Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane
Director: Scott Thomas
Actors: Erick Avari; Dale Midkiff; Kevin J. O'Connor; Richard Tyson; Raymond Barry

Unholy terror is unleashed in the skies when a deadly, genetically engineered virus is released onboard a transatlantic flight to Paris in this heart-stopping thrill-ride of terror.

That is the line on the back of the movie. This movie starts out good and ends good and in between is actually pretty good. Not too gory, lots of fake blood, some actors that you will probably know by face and not by name, lots of flesh-eating zombies to fill a plane and a rough ending as to how in the hell these people will be able to get out of this plane alive.

The title says it all. Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane is exactly what it says: a glorified B-horror movie that should have basically been called Zombies on a Plane. Surprisingly though, Flight of the Living Dead isn't all that bad, and in spots it's actually kind of enjoyable to boot. There isn't a whole lot in terms of plot to be found here (like I said, the title says it all and tells you everything you really need to know), but there's enough bloody fun to be had here. The blood and gore effects are decent enough for a low budget, direct to DVD horror flick, and there's some familiar faces to be found here including Pet Semetary's Dale Midkiff and The Mummy's Kevin J. O'Connor(he played Benny). It's campy and kind of goofy, and if you're reading this, chances are you already know what you're getting with Flight of the Living Dead. As an afterthought, maybe New Line should have released this theatrically instead of Snakes on a Plane.
